On forgetting things...

I do it all the time.

About 10 or so years ago I started making a list for the fridge of all the things to remember each day, and sometimes on an hourly basis if necessary. The list got longer and longer until I realised there were too many things to have to be remembered constantly.

Every once in a while something helps remind me of some of the things.

The Hopi people reminded me 3 years ago in their last message to the world that times are going to get tougher, and we have to let go and let it happen as it will, as long as we remained centred.

Well, I didn't. I flipped and flopped like a fish out of water, waved my arms about in the air, and yelled at 'god'... in case there is one, so the bastard would hear me... instead of going with the flow out in the middle of the river.

So a reminder came the other day. And I remembered what it was about... that was nice don't you think?

The memory was about not letting things bother you so much that you lose focus. To regain equanimity.. the ability to observe everything around you but not let it effect you.

When you can stay in that state of mind, you more easily see what you can take action on, and what you should let go it's own way.

So.. that was painless and profound.

Just got to remember that how I feel every day really is up to me... doesn't mean I won't be having some solid rants in 2012.

Nice Power Bill?

Yes!!

I don't know why the new power bill is so low compared to all the others in the past few years, but I am not going to complain about it that's for sure.

Let's compare... last bill from Winter was $590. This Spring bill is $199... minus payments already made which brings it to $119.

Massive difference isn't it?

So, I know we didn't use any heaters to stay warm, we did use less hot water because the girly-monster is home only 4 to 5 night per week now, the TV was on less but the new TV in the girly's room was on, as was her stereo. Nothing else has changed since Winter except we use cold water to wash our clothes instead of letting the machine heat water to 40 degrees C.

I still sit up late on my puter then watch some TV until I am ready for sleep. This puter is still on 14 or more hours each day.

Well, it looks like I can pay the new bill in one hit on pension day next week, and that means I can save more for the motorcycle.. oh yeah!!

Am I happier today?

I was reading the NineMSN website two days ago and was again horrified by the use of inappropriate content for a family website. In the Entertainment section on the Main page were two Headline links to stories in the "Fix" section.

One headline read "WTF: Nicole ..."  and the other headline read "Ho Ho Ho: Skanky costumes for ..."

So me being me, I found the have your say part, and had my say....

Is there an adult working there? Can you get them to tell you Generation Y'ers that "WTF" is still an offensive term to most people in the Real World, so it is offensive used in this Headline, and also in plain view on a family website. You can have a good laugh at the old guy who is trying to get you to see that Youth Culture is not Everyone in Australia... so please learn good form in the public domain. This is the third time I have mentioned this here. Next time will be an email to the mature Adults at the top who do all the hiring and firing.

So at first I thought they would not publish it, like most of my comments about the cancers spreading through Youth Culture, but it appeared the next morning, and it was then I knew why they posted it up this time.. so that the Youth could also have their say about my words.

Fair enough you may think, and I agree. But I was also expecting the types of responses I did get from young adults.. cough..cough.


Not sure if anyone remembers that disgustingly voyeuristic TV show called Big Brother ? One night the dragon-women and some University Student Union Leader had a concerned Dad on a "Special" to supposedly allow him to voice his concerns.

He had a 14 and a 16 year old daughters, and did not want them to watch that absolute garbage for the mind. So once he had his say, the two Villians ganged-up on him and made it appear that he was just an old fogey having a whinge and should get up with the times. They even told him he SHOULD watch that show WITH his daughters so they could discuss anything he was concerned about as it came up.

I freaked out on how he was treated by these Gen Y females. They showed absolutely no understanding of his perception, NOR did they CARE one bit. All they wanted was to FORCE him to let his teenage daughters to watch the drivel and made him look stupid in public to insure no one else so much as tried to have a say and be heard.


So, I was reminded of that "Special" by the comments of the Youth to my first comments.. and here are just a few to show you what I mean.....

Thats what you take from all of this? *** is a term used by almost everyone. I can be walking around the shops and ill hear people that are no older then 12 using it in general speech. The fact is, you could take *** to be alot of different things, unless your telling the kids exactly what it means, they wont know. People like you are what is ruining society, unable to accept change and the fact that words that were horrible 50 years ago when you were 20 are becoming more and more acceptable in todays society

He sees no problem with 12 year olds speaking that way??

I'm honestly sick and tired of hearin people like YOU makin comments about gen y. How about your gen TEACH us how to be proper and stop putting all the blame on us. Seriously I'm sick of it. The story was posted on the front page of NineMSN, in the Entertainment section. So to make things as clear as possible Lesha, "***", "Ho Ho Ho... ***", are not appropriate for a Family website. The words themselves are not Australian. They are American Youth Culture derived from the Gansta Rap culture, also not family orientated. I know what a Troll is as I've been around Internet Forums ever since they began. I seek only to have decent values adhered to in the Public Domain. In my Youth no one swore in Public at Parents, around Children or Elders. We had Respect for ourselves and others. As a single dad who raised a daughter on his own, I saw the Cancer that has been spreading through Youth Culture even before you were born. I fought for kids to have a real childhood, for kids to learn Values for Life, for Human Rights and Personal Freedoms. The very things now taken for granted by this Me, Me, Me culture of Youth today. I have seen all the kids arguments.. nothing new there.

Anyone else notice how the auto-Censor actually censored my own usage of the two terms I had an issue with? What does that tell us?

Can I please just point out, The definition of idiocracy is NOT associated with idiocy but with idiosyncracy, it means essentially a peculiarity of a state or constitution and is derived roughly from the ancient greek word 'to mix'. So when all these commenters are jumping on their intellectual high horses and bemoaning the state of today's society calling it an idiocracy I think you're getting mixed up with the popular movie 'Idiocracy', which is somewhat ironic. **face-palm**

I loved the Face Palm bit.. and I really got a kick out of her telling me where and why I was wrong.. when she didn't even see that both older people knew exactly what we meant by the term "Idiocracy".. the Movie. 

Lack of common sense showing right there.. no matter how well educated some may be. And not being able to read the real words without thinking about what she wanted to say.. just like NOT Listening isn't it?

As it was said before, its the generation that raised us that has screwed up along the line to make us as 'bad' as we are, which even when speaking then your speaking for a minority of the population. All im taking from reading your comments is that your some old shut in who cant accept change. Society is not adult based, it used to be, not anymore. Society changes depending on the demographic your around and the socioeconomic area you are in. There is nothing you can do about Australian becoming more and more similar to America, its part of the world when they are one of the largest countries with the biggest influence. Seriously if you have this much of an issue with society and whats going on, GET OFF A GOSSIP WEBSITE. That type of language is going to be used here. Your not the youth anymore, accept it and move on.

As often as I said the offending content was on the NineMSN Home Page none of the responders seemed to notice that and blindly went ahead telling me off for complaining about something on a "Gossip Site".

The disempowerment of Family began around 1980. Each successive generation was born into more power and Rights for Kids than Parents. Media focused on kids as Consumers to hook them into buying "must-have-stuff" all their lives, and it worked well. I'm educated too, Psychology, Philosophy and Politics at the Uni of South Oz, so I'm not some silly old geezer having a whinge. I am pointing out what needs to be fixed in our Society. Our children, in general, have become spoiled like spoiled fruit. The current education system has let 99% of you down, witness the many who can't spell to save their life, can't do ANY math in their head, have little common sense as displayed here by some. My issue is with inappropriate content on the Front Page, The Public Domain, which linked to this "Gossip Site". It must be difficult to have a long term perception of the downward slide of our culture when you are only 20 or even 30 years old, but you will notice it over the next 2 decades I hope.

I wold like to hear your feedback on this folks.. did you get as a good a laugh as I did?

Police are PUBLIC SERVANTS.. you pay their wages with your Taxes.

Sadly... most people DO NOT join the Police FORCE to improve the conditions of others in the community.

Most DO join the Police FORCE in order to fulfil their OWN needs for CONTROL and POWER over others.

But NO.. now we are more American than we were yesterday.

Now anyone who injures or kills a Policeman will be more likely shot on the spot as they do in America.. so there is NO Justice for these people whether they committed the crime intentionally or the outcome was accidental.

Now watch what happens next.. we will see more reports of Police shooting people when they could just as easily have taken them into custody.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

The question has been asked.. and I don't have an answer.

I can tell you I am severely "over it all".

Had enough of trying to wake people up to what is going on around them.

Had enough of trying to wake people up to the simplest fact of all.. that you have all the power right now to make change happen.

Had enough of pointing out for 30 years how change will take a large number of people all standing together to force it.. otherwise it will not happen in our lifetime.

Had enough of the dumbarses all around me, in this town and any other like it.

Had enough of Adults pandering to kids, spoiling those kids like rotten apples.. and then letting them out in the world to be smart-arsed mouth-offs hiding behind the law that protects them from having their just desserts already.

Had enough of the struggle every single day.

Had enough of being an island in a sea of shit as the shit gets deeper all around it.

Had enough of being minimized.. having No Voice to be Heard, having no means to create change via the system inplace.

Seriously over not being Heard.. and when heard being suppressed to maintain others comfort zones.

Just had enough. I wonder why I bothered in the first place.. no one actually listens, then thinks about their own effects in the world, then takes responsibility for their actions.

Can't wait for this system to come crashing down so I can take off into the mountains and not have to put up with the bullshit anymore.

Been seriously thinking it's time for me.. time to ignore everything else going on around me.. and become one of the blind folks going about their day to day grind and not giving a shit about anything else.

Uranium that is.

I disagreed with John Howard's approach when in talks with China years ago to sell them uranium. He promised us he would get an assurance that the products of Our uranium were not weaponised, and he promoised to raise Our Concerns over China's human rights abuses.

On return he was asked what the response was to Our Concerns. Little Johnnie said, "The opportunity to speak about it didn't come up."

Global Nuclear Non-Proliferation is something we can Effect Directly in Australia.. just leave the Uranium in the ground. Do not dig it up and sell it to anyone.

Simple as that.

Even when your country is slowly heading for the big financial drain hole, you do not need to try and buffer it by potentially becoming an even larger part of the Nuclear problem.

Ms Gillard is trying to convince Labour to change it's platform on selling Uranium to India.. this is not a good sign at all. She is supposed to be part of the WHOLE.. she is supposed to uphold the platform and Our Best Interests long term.. she is not supposed to try and change the platform to suit some unknown agenda.

I'm not going to ask you this time.. you know the question and you should know your answer to it by now.

Try to make sure uranium stays in the ground... and we stop selling any of it. We do not need China's money and smiles.. we need to pull away from China and ensure our own country is doing things right.

Big Pay Rises for Politicians.. meanwhile the rest of us...

Today's headlines say it all.. and I know we were pre-warned a couple of weeks agao.. seems everyone forgot about this important issue..

Federal politicians are in for a big pay rise with Prime Minister Julia Gillard set to take home an extra $90,000 and Liberal turncoat and new Speaker Peter Slipper pocketing an extra $70,000, News Ltd papers say.

Q/. Why should Politicians get such massive pay increases?

Q/. Why do working class people only ever get very, very small pay increases of only a couple of dollars per week?

Q/. Should Politician's be paid the Average Wage plus phone and car perks ONLY?

The RedHead in Canberra is getting an extra $90,000 per year!!!!!! She will be paid more than the U.S. President!

Meanwhile our Hospitals can't do their jobs properly due to funding cuts, less staff.. etc.

Meanwhile our Schools keep pumping out Dumb Teenagers who can't write, talk or use math to save their lives in most cases... and this is due to funding shortages, lack of good teachers and the stupid system put in place back in the 90's

Meanwhile I pay $100 each week on food shopping... which only just covers the bottom of the shopping trolley.... 8 years ago $100 filled the shopping trolley!!!

Meanwhile the Power Bills just keep rising and rising out of sync with everything else.

Meanwhile Fuel is over-priced in Australia compared to every other first world nation on the planet.

Meanwhile carrego keeps increasing each year.

Meanwhile my Pension does not increase each year.. and when it finally does I get a couple of extra dollars only.

Meanwhile Families in Australia are seriously struggling to get by in any way similar to how we used to live in the 80's and 90's.

Meanwhile the hidden Homeless in Australia grow in leaps and bonds as more people hit the financial wall and have no means to recover.

Meanwhile.. I get the shits with everyone for not doing anything to stop this unfair pay increase for our Polititicans.

Meanwhile.. Aussies will bitch about the Politician's pay rise.. but do NOTHING about it.

I've had enough of this.. wake the hell up people.. it is TIME to stop the rot..and that can only be achieved by large numbers arriving in Canberra to stand up and say NO WAY.. to politician's massive pay increases.

Facial Recognition System.. part 2

Going back over this so that people might be able to understand what the BIG DEAL is with it.

It's simple really.. do you remember the saying "Big Brother is watching You".

Well there you have it.... we all hated the concept of being observed every second of our lives and not having any freedom of movement because of it.

So why has no one bothered to stand up and fight against this being slipped in under our noses?

Because no one KNEW this was happening. We were not informed before they employed the system.

This is simpkly more of the same old thing I have been concerned with for most of this life.. our eroding Freedoms in the time of "Terrorist Threats to our way of life".

It's bullshit folks. We do not need this facial recognition system in Australia.

The reasons for it's use are pathetic.. to stop teens sending friends in to do their tests.. what a load of crap!!

There is only one reason for the system to be used without our express permission and agreement to lose valuable Freedoms and Rights.. so that those in control can have much more control.. much more ability to observe you every minute of your life.

You will not be able to walk down a street without someone behind a computer pin-pointing you on their screen and within split-seconds know who you are and have all your details at their fingertips.

My daughter does not understand my concern.. so I explained that she has grown up in a world of Technology and so does not know any different.. whereas I grew up in a world of freedom.. to move around and journey wherever you wanted to go without Big Brother watching over you all the time... without your movements being tracked every second of every day.

So I don't expect Generation Y to understand my concerns.

BIG BROTHER is Here Now.. and no one told you it was Here already.. except me.

So bend over folks and take that extra 6 inches the goverment is giving you.. do you feel like a pig on a spit yet??

Global Coffee Shortage... arrrrggghhh!!

That's right.. just read it this morning. Due to a global coffee bean shortage.. mostly with Arabica Beans.. coffee is about to skyrocket in price.

So now might be a good time to grab what you like.. by the Kilogram that is.

I can't imagine a world with no Coffee..... no electricity I can handle.. no fuel for cars I can handle.. no fresh fruit and veg at the grower's market... well, I could almost handle that.

But Coffee.. my favourite addiction.. my morning friend.. my go to when stressed drinky.. yeah yeah I know it doesn't relax anyone but it is Coffee.... and a world without Coffee is a place I do not want to be.. if I had the choice.

I'm going to miss Coffee, more than I ever missed the ex-wife all those years ago.. maybe even more than I will miss the girly-monster when she leaves home.. and definitely more than I miss Sex.

There.. I said it.

What is the world coming to when a 52 year old.. who does not feel that old.. prefers Coffee to Sex.

Seriously.. Coffee has no expectations of you.. Coffee won't roll over and say goodnight when you aren't ready to sleep yet.. Coffee won't leave a wet spot for you to sleep on.. who drinks coffee in bed anyway?

You get my drift.. Coffee.. the single most important thing in the History of the world.. lol... okay.. single most important thing in the world next to the invention of the Wheel.. and maybe Bread.. oh and comfy beds.....

And you know I forget what Sex is .... why we like it so much.. I even forgot the days when you could have some without all the baggage people want to hoist onto your shoulders these days just to get a bit .. sadly anough the drama you have to go through these days for a little bit is seriously not worth it.

Oh.. back to Coffee.. the more important issue here today... because it is a global shortage threatening to ruin the enjoyment and dare I say.. Total Happiness of Coffee lovers everywhere.

Now.. if we could just get the Americans to make GOOD Coffee, things in the world would be right.. they might not need to play Global Bully-Boy if they could make a decent cup of Coffee?

1/. Centrelink's Negative Surprise for Today


My girly graduated and finished high school on Friday the 19th... interestingly, as we found out today in a letter.. that's 5 DAYS LATER.. "Your Youth Allowance was stopped on Friday the 19th, please contact us." Sure it said more than that, but this is the important bit.

Okay then.. I wonder why we never got anything about this from Centrelink in the weeks leading up to the end of Grade 12.. they obviously KNEW she would finish on the 19th.. so why didn't they let us know beforehand that important things were about to change.

Why wait for 5 days until she is one day away from putting in her income statements so that she gets paid again this coming Monday? Of course this all means we have to live off my Pension until something gets sorted out.

So.. the girly got on the phone and talked to someone after a half hour wait on HOLD.. apparently they are putting her on NewStart.. the same amount of money.. half the unemployment payment. And they have made an appointment for her already at one of the "two government subsidised employment agencies".

Seems you don't even get a choice of which one you would prefer now days.

Oh.. and no word of when the next bit of money will arrive... so that will depend on her attending this appointment, and having all the documentation needed now to have the system do something for you.. so that she can wait another fortnight or so for the NewStart payments to being.

Dang! Looks like my pension is going to be hit hard for us to survive until she gets paid.... unless I do the OGRE routine and say she has to pay half rent, half the food costs and bills from her little after-school job wage.

What peeves me about this is something very simple.... why did they wait to tell us?

Why do they not seem to give a rats about the effect of their Surprise on our ability to survive indefinitely on my little Single Pension ?

Yep.. it's the lack of showing any degree of concern for people by their actions.. and this is a Government Department we are talking about here!!

I've always said the government do not really care about the peole that much.. seems I was correct doesn't it?

2/. Facial Recognition System and Smart Cards Use

This one gets right under my skin and annoys the living hell out of me.

When they try to bring Facial Recognition Systems into America, various Human Rights and Freedom Lobbyists oppose it on the grounds of the loss of Rights and Personal Freedoms that are a part of using this technology.

So what happens in Australia when the Government tries to bring this system into our Country?

Well, glad you asked me today.....

NOTHING HAPPENS !!

Sorry for yelling at you... but Geez Folks wake the hell up for once in your life!!

Our Government decided to use these systems.. they did not ask us if we agreed to it.. or even IF WE wanted to give up some more Rights and Freedoms for the "alleged" benefits of the system.

Proof once again that Our Government does not give a SHIT about YOU or what YOU think.

.. if they did they would have asked for OUR PERMISSION FIRST.. since we are the ones who are supposed to have the say.

And what are the Benefits of using this cancerous system?

Here' what I was told at the Transport Department in Little Gumbieville when I asked about the NEW System already in use there......

"It's so teenagers can't send their friends in to do their test for them."

I even asked her what other Departments will this information be shared with.. she said, "All the files stay in our system.. we delete each photo after they have done their test, unless they passed."

So I asked, "Won't it be shared with the Police?"

"No", she replied, "The licence has a smart chip in it so the Police get information from that."

I smiled.. knowing the Facial Recognition information will be recorded to this smart chip... then I said, "Do you remember back in the early 90's when the Government polled the people about having smart cards in Australia.. and the people soundly voted NO ?"

Didn't get an answer for that... I only got THE LOOK .. you know it.. the one that says... Crazy man.. Trouble.

I knew this desk jockey had no idea about the system and why it is now in place. I also knew she had no idea that Australia is used for such experiments on the Plebs to see if it works and is "gotten away with".

Do you like the idea that everywhere you go you are tracked not only by your Smart Phone.. but also the Facial Recognition System via every single CCTV Camera you can and can't see in Queensland.. and other States.

You won't be able to go anywhere without the "Authorities" knowing exactly where you are, where you've been, and at what time you were and are there.

Some people will argue.. "If you have nothing to hide it's not an issue."

Such small-minded thinking on their behalf!

It's an issue because you have no Right to Free Movement without being Watched by Big Brother.

You have no Right or Freedom to PRIVACY

You are essentially.. just one of the Cattle being tracked through it's life to it's death.

Every day I see more and more of the things that many years ago I foresaw would happen .. and that kind of saddens me a little... knowing what is still to come.

I do not Lie or Joke about this stuff for a very good reason.

Graduation Night not so painful after all..

Yep.. you read the heading correctly.

My concerns over parents having to dress formal in hot weather was alleviated around midday when clouds passed in front of the sun for the afternoon and a breeze made its presence known.. what a relief !

So by the 6pm start time I was hardly breaking a sweat while standing in the crowded outdoors area set aside for everyone's nibbly-dinner.. which cost us all $10 per head and consisted of Sausage Rolls, mini-mini pizzas and quiches, and standard sandwiches with Cordial. Haven't wondered about the value obtained.. so won't bother to.

It was weird for me.. my girly had been at this school for almost all of the 5 years in high school, and yet I only knew a few of the kids and a couple of parents. I noted many of the locals knew each other and all the kids, plus grandkids, etc. Made me feel like an outsider for sure, lol.

Funny how you can live in an area for 8 or so years and still not be a local.

The girly had dressed up nicley, as had her friends.. there were some lovely, expensive, new short dresses in the crowd. I still don't understand the need for such over-the-top requirements just for finishing High School.. I mean most of us did it and it was no Big Deal like it has been made to be today.

I guess that's more about the invasion of American Culture into our's than anything else.

Anyway.. off the soapbox Oldie..

Once we all trailed into the main hall... where it wasn't too hot desite no A/c in the building.. the parents all sat and the night began.. I was dreading all the speeches, dreading having to suffer through another two or three tunes played by the school band.. just like every other thing I've attended at the school so far.

But.. there were speeches.. lots and lots of them, and they were kept to minimum length.... No school band music.. Yay!! So two girls got up on stage and sang a beautiful rendition of some top 40 song.. their voices were at opposite ends of the scale and yet both lovely voices together became SPECIAL.

Seriously SPECIAL. The vibration created by both voices caused tears of Joy to flow down my cheeks. Had to keep wiping them away and yawning to relieve the pressure.. it worked.

Man.. that was an experience I can tell you.

The kids then put on some small excerpts from their talent quest, and followed that up by playing a series of Multi-media presentations put together from the year's activities.. all very well done too I might add. That section finished with a video presentation of the Teacher's live recorded messages to the leaving students.. one in particular I liked.. every time she was approached she waved her hand at the camera-toting teens and said, "Go.. Away!!"

Cracked me up each time.

The kids then fanned out into the audience to give their Mum's a Carnation and a letter they wrote for their parents. From what I could see, I was the only Dad to get a Carnation.. and that garnered some "Ooohs and Ahhs" from the older ladies watching on nearby.

And before I knew it, the night was almost over. Time then to give the kids their Graduation Folios as we all applauded them. Then it was cake and coffee time.. which is when we said our goodbyes and gave thanks to certain very helpful staff before leaving for home.

Nice night out in the end. The girly then went out with friends and I stayed home thinking about life as an empty nester in a couple of years time.

And yet yesterday I read this report about the same IAEA recommendations....

The official IAEA report did not find evidence for any Nuclear fuel manufacturing..

...but it did find a major project underway for Nano-Diamonds. And we wonder why the U.S. wants this project to stop, don't we ?

Nano-Diamonds have many important appllications in space, and on earth.. and if I could find the damn source I could tell you a lot more about why this project is so important to the U.S. that it's pushing the LIE of Uranium enrichment leading to Nuclear weapons in Iran.. which is simply not the case at all.

But.. we should be very used to our Politician's LYING to us by now.....

They LIED about Iraq having Nuclear capability.. and when they got there of course not a thing was found.. no evidence at all. And so they stayed and got drawn into their second Vietnam style war.

They LIED about bring the boys home from Afghanistan.. instead they brought home a couple of thousand and re-assigned the remainder under a new name that in legal terms makes them non-combatants.. despite the fact that they are still sending more troops over to fight on the ground.

Here, they LIED about Children Overboard to garner votes, then later when asked Mr Howard did admit to the information being incorrect at the time.. and he knew that at the time.

Here, they LIED about Smart Cards.. remember we all voted against ever having them in Australia??? Well what happened then? Yep.. Mr Howard's Government snuck them around to the back door so that we would have to accept them anyway.

See.. they do not listen to you... even when they ask you a question.

So stop listening to them.. make up your own minds people!!!

The TV, Radio and newsapers do not report TRUTH.. in fact all news items you see and hear come from one place in Sydney.. the one place that "suitable" news items are vetted and sold to the TV and Radio Stations, etc. So all you get is what you are allowed to get.

Ok, so you answered Yes to both questions and are probably wondering what I'm up to. Well, I found a short video a couple of years ago about Amalgum Fillings and the Mercury in them releasing vapour that leaches into your bloodstream where it easily crosses the barrier into the Brain. "Even if our way of dealing with the crisis was not by choice, but due to the inability of the government to support the banks back in 2008 due to their size relative to the economy, this has turned out relatively well for us," Bentsson said.

Iceland's banking sector had assets worth 11 times the country's total gross domestic product (GDP) at their peak.

Nobel Prize-winning US economist Paul Krugman echoed Bentsson.

"Where everyone else bailed out the bankers and made the public pay the price, Iceland let the banks go bust and actually expanded its social safety net," he wrote in a recent commentary in the New York Times.

"Where everyone else was fixated on trying to placate international investors, Iceland imposed temporary controls on the movement of capital to give itself room to manoeuvre," he said.

The REAL issue with QANTAS!

You've all seen the news about the unbelievable action taken by the Irishman at the helm of what was once our very own International carrier.. yes every single aircraft around the world is grounded... absolutely no need for that action at all when the strikes are only in Australia!!

So why did he do this?

Think back to the waterfront war in the 90's... we know that was all about Union busting so that employers could better enslave employees with their Contracts for lower pay and less rights.

Mr Joyce says it's the Unions fault for not giving in on their "excessive demands".

The Unions say their demands are only..
1/ Security of Employment for a 3 year period.
2/ A very small pay increase.

Hmmm, how does that sound like "excessive demands" ?

And how is it possible for Mr Joyce to get a massive pay increase of 2 Million Dollars when the real workers can't even have a small increase or security?

Tony Abbot as usual says it the Government's fault... as if he has any idea on what's going on in the real world. He seems to think his job as Leader of the Opposition means he has to Oppose Everything the current Government does... instead of understanding his job is only to HELP AUSTRALIANS by working with the Government to improve things for us.. the Voters.

I forewarned that when QANTAS moved their Maintenance Operations to Asia, the company's perfect safety record would be wrecked beyond all belief.. and this is exactly what has happened.

Do you know who owns QANTAS?

Partial ownership is with Air New Zealand .. who themselves are owned by Singapore Airlines .. and the majority of the remaining shares are owned directly by Singapore Airlines.

So the major Australian International Airline is not even Australian anymore and hasn't been for well over a decade.

That's kinda sad for Australia.


Mr Joyce's actions are all about destroying the rights of Australian Workers so that they can be replaced by anyone who will do the job for far less than you would.. and so that the company canmove to Asia and use local employees.

Do not be Fooled by the Bullshit you read or hear in the Not The News on TV, Radio and Newspapers in our region.. which by the way are all majority owned by Murdock who loves Australia so much he doesn't even live here and certainly has never given a danm about it if his international newpaper reporting on Australia are anything to go by... yes it stirs the shit between those to our North so that they hate us even more because of the vile things we are made out to be in Murdock owned news media there.

He should be charged with Treason too.

What this should tell you is that none of the really Big Corporations give a shit about you, your family or needs. They only care about their Shareholder's PROFITS... at Your expense.

The Unions have said they've only had some rolling strikes that amount to less than 10 hours in the past two or three weeks and have already agreed to cancel further action.. before Mr Joyce did what he did this weekend!!!

Cops in Fear for their own Safety???

Just after sunrise this morning my neighbourhood was woken by an angry drunk young man yelling abuse.. and his friend who was trying to get him to shut up and go home.

Meanwhile two female Police 'Officers' (note the Militarised Legal Terminology) sat in their paddy-wagon across the road from my place doing NOTHING.

So I headed out the door with my trusty old "door manager".. well I am in my 50's now.... and yelled to the guy to please shut up as we are all trying to sleep.. he told me to "F--k off.. you don't know what's going on".

At that moment the two Police 'Officers' got out of their vehicle and called out to me, "Excuse me, be quiet". WTF??? Both myself and my neighbour could see they had Tasers and Pepper Spray on their Utility Belts.

So I immediately replied asking, "What's taking you so long?".. they "directed" me to shut up and I reminded them that this is Australia and I have every Right to Speak Freely, and then asked again, "Why are you taking so long? This guys has been yelling for well over 10 minutes."

They then walked down the street towards this young man and his friend as a Highway Patrol car appeared behind the offenders. One male 'Officer' then faced up to the two men and subdued the guy who was yelling, then handcuffed him as the female 'Officers' looked on and occassionaly stepped in between the arrested man and his friend.

All good then you would think, right?

No.. one of the female 'Officers' jogged her obese frame back up the street towards me before heading across the street to their unlocked paddy-wagon.. but not before yelling at me, "We'll be back to see you later. How dare you talk to us like that!" Again.. WTF??

I called back to her saying, "We have freedom of speech in Australia.".. to which she replied, with one hand waving me away, "I don't want to hear it."

So.. I went to the shop for bread, milk and ciggies.. made sure to put a note in the front window saying I would be back in ten minutes, to be sure sure I did not miss their return visit.

An hour and a half later they slowed to a stop out the front.. but not until after three or four cop cars had cruised by looking in at my neighbour and myself sitting out the front waiting for the visit.

The two female 'Officers' walked over to the gate with hands on their Utility Belts.. as if expecting trouble from this old man. So I welcomed them by saying, "Good morning again Ladies".. notice how I immediately informed them by my choice of words that they are Equal Human Beings to me and not members of a Militarised Police "Force".... note again the Legal Terminology.

Their attitudes were instantly more friendly towards me.

They explained to me then that they had to work within the confines of Safety Issues for themselves, and could not tackle these two young men themselves so that people in the street did not see them being involved in a scuffle with 'Officers' going one on one with the two young men.

I then interupted (spelling?) them for a minute to ask, "But aren't you trained in Hand to Hand combat? And don't you both carry Pepper Spray, Tasers as well as your firearms ?"

They answered, "We can only deploy the Taser if they have a weapon." To which I smirked, having seen many, many videos of the abuse of Pepper Spray and Tasers on Australians who are unarmed... as well as being non-verbally.. they had their hands on their unclipped Tasers at the time.. threatened with Tasering when demanding the ID of an undercover cop who ran into my house behind the 10 or so uniformed 'Officers' who came to my place earlier this year with an Illegal Search Warrant based on the testimony of a man I knew to be a lying sack of shit who had been busted for Pot.. yes, he gave them people's names in an attempt to get off the charges.. even when the people named were doing nothing illegal.

I also explained to them that I had done Security work at difficult biker venues in my time and knew how easily a person can be subdued without main force being applied... and so the two of them with their Training could easily have taken the two young men down well before they reached our street and woke up the neighbourhood.

They responded saying that Their Own Safety is the factor leading to their decision for Inaction this morning. And then told me they were afraid the second man may have attacked them as they tried to subdue his friend.

Anmd there you have the gyst of the issue here.... Police no longer use their training to do their job.. instead they call "Fear" and either use Weapons against people or overcome them with superior numbers... just as the American Police do.

No surprise really, considering how our "Police Force" has weaponised themselves under the change of Legal Terminology that allows them to do so... and how they have copied the Uniforms of the U.S. Police, how they have changed from subduing an armed 'person' (legal terminology again) to shooting them dead with a body-mass shot instead of a leg shot or other forms of non-lethal force.

Bet you did not know that Australian Police also have the L-Rad 500 System.. a despicable Sound Weapon that causes intense pain to anyone within a 500 metre range. Check it out.. I tell you the truth.

Long gone are the days when a "Policeman" or "Policewoman" .. note the use of Non-Legal Terminology.. would handle an aggressive 'person' themselves using the methods learned in their training instead of waiting to do their job until enough Cops are on the scene.

The last thing I said to these two 'officers' this morning was, "You have to expect Public Scrutiny". They said, "Yes we know." To which I replied, "It is going to get a lot worse yet Ladies." They had nothing to say to that.

So there ya go.. a little bit of excitement in Little Gumbieville just after sunrise today.

Before signing off for today I want to mention something else about this...

Their statement of, "How dare you speak to us like that." is a perfect indication of their loss of understanding their position as PUBLIC SERVANTS who are Employed by the People and whose Salary is Paid by Your Taxes to Serve and Protect.. and.. to Keep the Peace.

They have forgotten we are all Equal Human Beings and that they have no Extra Priviledges or Rights as Police 'Officers' than any one else in this country of Ours. They chose their career and I can almost guarantee most do not go into the Police 'Force' to Serve and Help the Community.. most go into the 'Force' for the Power and Control they will have over all others.

Why support the Occupy Movement?

Just about everyone I hear talk about this.. if they even know of its existence.. say something like this, "Bloody hippies and dole bludgers...they want to destroy the banking system".

Which tells me Media has done its job of selectively wording the information to appear as if this is just a bunch of time wasting losers out to cause us all harm.


You see for yourself that Media is saying, "** people injured in fracas with Police".. which gives the distinct impression these people started the trouble and the Police HAD TO use violence.


This is a Lie.


With the exception of one or two people around the world, this Protest has been nothing other than extremely peaceful.. until the Police enter the fray with their Protective Riot Gear, Chemical Weapons, Flash Grenades, Rubber Bullets, Clubs, Nightsticks, Motor Scooters used to run into people, and even Horses used to Trample People.. as happened in Sydney yesterday. Not to mention the punches thrown by Police at peaceful protesters.

So what is all the fuss about?

This Protest is Opposed to Corporate Greed while ordinary people suffer as their livelihood provides less and less income.. this is a FACT.. even the lastest International Report claims Real Incomes for 99% of the population have dropped a massive amount even though that same population increased Productivity by leaps and bounds from 1976 onwards.

At the same time the wealthy have reaped massive benefits, massive Tax Cuts and income increases the likes of which are OBSCENE.

And here lay the Big Problem... inequality for the masses.

Why should some man sit for 4 or 6 hours a day in a comfy office chair, in air conditioned offices between long lunches, golf days, plus other  perks and take home Multi-Millions of Dollars whether he does the job well .. or not.... while the vast majority of REAL WORKERS slave away for 40 hours a week for next to nothing?

Do you see how unfair this system really is?

In America, the Banks and Big Business were bailed-out.. but now the ordinary workers are expected to cover the costs to the government for this sickening hand out of money to help support the System that Helps Itself.

These Protesters are doing what they are doing FOR YOU.

Don't you think you owe it to them to give some support.. or at least Learn what the Facts are and stop putting shit on them??????

This World-Wide Protest began in America.. on Wall Street 3 weeks before Media HAD TO begin reporting on it. Why the wait? Fear.. the Fear of the 1% in Control.. who are afraid that the numbers would grow to such an extent that REAL CHANGE would be Forced Upon Them.

So they tried to cover it up for 3 weeks. Then when they coldn't they used their information service (Media) to belittle the Protesters, to mould the view we all have of them so that NONE OF US JOIN IN.

Next they sent in the Riot Squads to remove the people, to shut them up, to make them cower in Fear of their Lives.

Those people..the Protesters... well they are your Sons and Daughters, Your Grand-parents, Your Neighbours, the people who make half of the crap you buy because Media shows you NEED it.. these people are the same as you.

At least they have the GUTS to stand and Face the Bullets, the grenades, the horses and other weapons used against them every single day for the past 8 weeks of this world-wide protest.

And you sit in your nice home, eat your nice food, watch your new TV and think how stupid these people are.

And you do not see that you are the Slaves for Big Business.. you are what gives them the massive Incomes from the sweat of your brow.. from the hard work you do and that they care nothing about other than increasing their already way too far over the top Incomes at your expense.

So what are you going to do about it?

Once upon a time in a sensible enough world everyone KNEW youth culture was a limited thing, something we all went through and initially started to grow out of as we became Legal Adults.. then later started to Mature into real adults somewhere in our late 20's.

So what's changed to make me comment now?

The past 30 years is the answer... well, not the exact answer but the thing I want to talk about today BEGAN way back then.

Around 1980 the focus was changed from the Adult world we all worked and played in and more emphasis was being placed on Youth.. they began to be Targetted by Media and Advertising Companies to insure Kids turned into Teens who bought a lot of crap they really didn't need.. and, this followed a pattern to insure those same kids/teens continued to Spend, Spend, Spend on all the latest "Must Have" crap.. that they still didn't really need... well into their Adult life.

It succeeded didn't it?

The problem now is that the Youth Culture has infiltrated all levels of our western cutlure.. and here are some examples...

1. Can't find a radio station that plays something you can listen to.

2. Struggle to find anything of value to watch on the Idiot Box.

2. Middle aged men on TV sporting what I call "Boy Hair".. you know what I mean.. you see these little Boys (teens really) who spend an hour in the morning making sure their hair is Perfectly Messy enough to appear in public.

3. All the kids now dress as if they are the Stars.. when once upon a time only the Stars dressed like Stars and everyone else dressed like.. well..  normal people.

4. Adults talking like Teens.. "He was like.. and she went".. "I lolled..".. etc. Once we used real words when sharing a conversation.. things like this.. "He said.. She replied".. "I laughed..".. etc.

While on language usage.. Dictionaries once knew that Youth Culture was a short-lived part of life and did not include the kiddies use of variant words.. because as we all knew back then these kids would grow out of the need to make themselves feel SPECIAL by using different terminology to "The Oldie's".

Theis youth culture is not our own by the way.. it's an Import into Australia. It is American Youth Culture that has infected the real world to the extent that Austrealia has lost it's Uniqueness.

Example.. a famous Aussie country singer went back to his way out west home town early in the new millenium.. what he saw shocked him to the core. The kids walking the streets in that small outback town all wore baggy pants halfway down the hips so that their jocks showed, they all wore BLING, they all talked U.S. slang and listened to U.S. Gansta Rap on their at the time Boomboxes.. now of course it's on their Phones.

I don't know about you.. but I want Australia to be Australian. I want to be able to watch good Australian made TV content, to hear good Australian made Music on the radio, to hear people talk like Australians, to act like Australians.

Is that too much to ask in Australia?

Oh No's.. I've become a Grumpy Old Fart.

It's true. Three weeks back I discovered I'd officially become a Senior.. about 18 months ago.

The Mind went into high gear and started talking to itself.. "But I don't feel old even if the body is getting there. It can't be true. Maybe I miscounted ?", and of course, "How did this happen?"

So that's the easy bit out of the way early, now onto the grumpy part.

People. Just people. They get up my nose very often each day. From the three or four people who cut me off at roundabouts while looking straight at me, to the many people dragging their little kids across the busy street only metres from a crossing.. from having to hear swearing at the shopping centre by kids and 'adults' to the absolute invasion of negative youth culture to the point that most people are Afraid of them... from seeing middle-aged TV men wearing teenagers hair styles to hearing 'adults' speak in TEXT.

I want to scream WAKE UP!!!!! But they would only look at me like I was the problem.

I speak up softly, and weather the looks of "Crazyman.. avoid him". Yep.. ignorance really is BLISS.

Can we get a whole town IQ tested? Man I would love to know what the average IQ is in Little Gumbieville. If I was a betting man I would put $100 on the answer being less than 60.. with many coming in around 5. And I wonder if this is so because only three families started this district all those years ago... well, the Local Gene Pool is very shallow.

I'm being serious here so stop giggling.

People. Isn't it weird how everyone expects everyone to be dishonest these days? People talk to me about a lot of stuff.. most of it is exaggerated or not really what happened.. even the little things! And most people say "But little white lies are okay".

Are they? Wouldn't little white lies still be Lying? And isn't lying Dishonesty?Are we all so afraid to speak Truthfully all of the time? If so then WHY?

People. Dumbarse parents who allow their kids to rule the world.. well, at least the house they live in. As if a Parents sole duty was to Keep the Kids Happy at All Times.

Guess what? It's not. So get over it and grow some Testicles. Maybe then we can turn this sinking ship of misguided Youth around so humanity has some sort of future that isn't one of ME ME ME ME.. NOW NOW NOW!!!

People. I love it when they smile, or go beyond their fears to be their best.

Grade 12 Formal night and other stuff....

We made it!! Can't believe we made it.. got some nice piccies of the girly and her date before they headed off. That should keep the family happy for a little while.

Tonight was the night it hit home that the girly is almost all grown up now.

Won't see her again until tomorrow sometime as she is attending a parentally-controlled after party about 60 k's out of town.. and you can bet my gut is churning hard over that one... especially after meeting so many pathetic parents in this district who have no idea about raising kids properly. Seriously.

Puters and Things that don't work.. like my Memory

Grrr at Computers.

I build my own home computers, including the one that runs my Simulator. But this year I have had some issues with it after going to Windows 7.

First thing I found after three months is the puter doesn't like going in and out of Sleep Mode.. and that was where issues began coming up for me.

Last Friday the system simply crashed.. well, locked-up would be the right thing to say. Locked up and would not come back, and would not restart. This forced me to take the hard drives out to test.. and yes.. the system drive was knackered.

So a busy day was had in rebuilding it with the remaining hard drive.. after 10 hours of removing all files off it to DVD Disc!!

Then some silly old git finds he forgot the many passwords to various websites he was a member of.. like this Blog Site.. and a few others.

And then somehow this morning, I realise I have two Google accounts and one Yahoo account that each will let me into this Blog's Dashboard.. if only I could remember the right User names and passwords.

So as you can see I lucked-in and found one that allowed me to keep blogging and not have to sign up for a new one.

And that's the story of my weekend... Bloody Computers ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The girly turns 17 today and hell breaks loose at home

Yep.. all it took was for me to say No to her staying over the night with friends who are both in their mid 20's.

She does not see what is wrong with the whole scenario, well, she is still a kid after all. And yes I am aware many parents let their 16 and 17 year olds do whatever they want.. and that is why so many are in trouble, pregnant, living with boyfriends, etc.

The hardest thing I find is being the 1 in 1,000 parents who do try to have boundaries in place, who do try to have Consequences in place and who love their kid enough to say no and then stand through the storm that comes with it.

I get threats of leaving home.. still acting like a 14 year old then. I get screamed at for not letting her do whatever she wants, when she wants... but she goes and does what she wants anyway!

I can't give in. She keeps breaking all the rules, every day, steals the money out of the account we set up for her car so that it only has 7 cents in it.. and she keeps making my life Hell with her Teen Angst bullshit.

And it only ever happens when I say No to something.. anything she wants.. and that is when the world goes sour and she gets ready to push it way harder than she needs to. She has at times wanted to push things to violence with me.. she has even instigated it in order to get her own way. Still acting like a 14 year old huh?

So all I can do today is get out of the house, get away from her for the day so I don't have to put up with the now booming bedroom music, the filthy looks, the stomping around and slamming doors and the on-going argument she wants to push.

So time to hang on to my Happy Thought......

I'm buying a motorcycle next year

Ahh.. it's Saturday

I love the weekends..even though every day is the same for me anyway. Weird that.

Maybe my still loving the weekends is some sort of throw-back to when I was able to work full time? I think our Indoctrination into Society really sinks in.

Saturday, the day when single men wash and polish their cars/bikes ready to go cruising about on Sunday. It's also the day that most lawns get mowed, more washing gets done, more house cleaning has to be done.... oh crap.. did I really say I love Saturday?

Hmmm.. positives for Saturday...... hmmmm.. well this Saturday is race day for my online Simulator racing group.. that's always a highlight.

My daughter will be at her part time work.. so the house will be quiet.. no BOOM BOOM BOOM coming from her room... Yay!!

The Sun is still out today... that's always a positive at this part of the year.. until Summer comes then we all try to avoid the midday sun as much as possible.. it gets HOT!! Which is only fair because it is a Sun after all.

Brain is slowing down.. forgot to make Coffee this morning.. going to kitchen now.

Being Poisoned by your Government?

If you live in Queensland Australia then YES you are now being poisoned by your State Government. Poisoned with the Waste Product of Fertilizer Manufacturing.

Someone must have gotten a nice bonus when they thought up the idea to sell this Toxic Waste off as being the Next Best Thing for your Teeth.

But most of you only heard the bit they offered about it being good for kids teeth and the decision was based on solid peer-reviewed Science. They even said it improves kids teeth by 40% on average.

Liars!! But being aware thinkers you already knew the Government treats you like a Mushroom anyway.

How old is this Peer-reviewed Science anyway? The lastest info I can find about Flouride from a solid source says it is a major concern now that long term effects are being seen in countries using Flouride for 20 to 30 years.

I also read a lot of quotes from various countries Health Ministers who are on record as saying they dfo not have the LEGAL Right to Mass Medicate their populations! Take that Queensland Health Minister.

There is testimony from people in the know back in the late 1940's to early 1950's who are on record as saying Flouride should never be Ingested, that it has very negative effects on various organs of the body as well as minimizing a person's ability to be Self-Directed.. meaning the use of Flouride in water so that you will Ingest, will slowly decrease your own ability to think clearly for Yourself.

I recently had an email exchange with my State's Health Minister who had a strong objection to my use of the term, "Mass Medicating the Population". He was very, very offended.

He also told me the standard line that Nature thought of it first and so they are simply supporting that for our health. What a crock of BS that is. The natural amounts of Flouride in water is so tiny that it is not worth worrying about.

My Health Minister says that a Safe Level in drinking water for Queensland is 15mg per Litre.. and then stressed how small that amount is.

So I immediately went to read up on The Flouride Alert website ... in 2006 a major review took place in the USA to find out what the Current thinking was on Ingesting Flouride from the water supply.

Any guesses as to what they recommended now as the absolute highest limit? 4mg per Litre!!! Yep almost 4 times lower than my State has decided is GOOD FOR US.

And why did they decide on this figure?

Because there is good evidence surfacing that proves beyond doubt how dangerous ingesting this Toxin really is. This Group of Scientists and Health Workers chose such a low level of added Flouride because Medical Science is seeing increased Flourosis of the Teeth in children, is seeing a large recorded increase in Bone Density Issues causing something like Osteo-porosis.. they even have a proper name for this disease now.. I just don't remember it right now.

I've seen the bags of Flouride that are purchased from CHINA for the water supply. Each bag has a HUGE Health Warning on the front.. it lists the body organs that Flouride effects negatively.. but people don't seem to take much note of these things in order to keep their jobs at the Water Department.

I do not want my Pineal Gland to Atrophy earlier in life than is normal. Come on Folks.. get with it. Stop going about your daily grind with blindfolds on.. force your government to be somewhat more Honest with you than they have been so far. Do not accept the forced Mass Medication by a Toxic Substance... get yourself enlightened about the real Issues with this Substance so that you can make a clearer decision before you hopefully take some ACTION.

Power Company Gouging Us?

Hell Yeah.

Like everyone else we have watched our bills increasing astronomically. When you ring the company you get told the charge per kilowatt hour has increased again by another 15 to 17%. So that's FIVE increases of around that much in only two years.

So then we see friendly TV ads telling us to turn off heaters in winter, use less power.. use less power to get lower bills!! WTF??

They say the increases are needed to cover the costs for new infrastructure. I want to ask, "Well what have you been doing with your massive profits for the past 20 years then?"

But... we should also know by now that we have No Voice. You do not get heard anymore. They say use your vote to be heard.... that is never enough in a well propped-up Two Party Preferred System that fails constituents almost every time.

No Oldie.. don't go off into a political rant right now.. stay on topic.

So how do you get your Voice Heard? How do you let the power companies know you are fed up with their BS lines of reasoning? You can't disconnect from their supply because the Law states having electricity in the home is a Must Have. You can't not pay the Bill, because strangely enough the Power Companies can break that Law and cut off your power supply.

What are we to do about it?

Well, since we are Aussies here in Oz I could expect a lot of "She'll be right mate" from the plebs who are already fully bent over but are too scared to stand up to the Government or their Power Company.

I want Revolution!! And I want it before I am too old to play my part in it.

Time folks to Stand Up and be Counted.. or just keep bending over an taking it until there is nothing left to give.

Teenage Girly Monster Alert !!

Funny things aren't they? Can't put them back where they came from and can't trade them on a nice motorcycle... just have to bear with it.

Who would have thought the little, beautiful bub I brought home and fought for would SUDDENLY become a strong minded young women, much to my discontent and ever-greying hair... and total tiredness from years of broken sleep.. and totally worn out emotionally.. and, getting older just to make matters seem worse.

Somehow these little humans we bring into the world can suck the fun out of anything. They can make you find strength you didn't think you had in you. They can surprise you with caring and gentleness as much as they can shock you with the popular modern version of teenage angst .. the complete bitch from hell who wants to push really...really.... Hard... and Often.

Sure find something inside yourself right there.

My girl has been all the above, and many times over already. She is 17 on Sunday.

Almost everyone she knows her age is either living with boyfriends and pregnant once or twice over, or living with boyfriends/girlfriends. Very few live at home with their parents. Seems I'm lucky, apparently.

So the girly decided to have a gap year to work more and do some study before making a "final" decision on career direction.

As mentioned in the first blog post, I was wondering what I would do with life once she left home. I came up with an interim plan to buy a motorcycle.. pick up where I left off 18 years before.

I can have a gap year too, can't I ? I'm not too old yet, am I ?

Pffft. I think making it through these last 17 years deserves a reward, hee hee.

There are two basic types of children....

1/. The Ruthless Child:- One who will not compromise or accept boundaries, will argue from an early age, will seek out any word you say to twist the topic against you.. I call that last one, Making-Wrong. Life with the ruthless child is always a rollercoaster affair of sleepless nights and drama upon drama, dishonest answers to any question about what they are doing after school, etc.

You get the picture.

2./ The Malleable Child:- One who parents say is a pleasure to raise, who will accept boundaries and house rules, who will co-operate with the family most of the time. These kids don't always behave like little angels, they are kids after all. But in general they don't push their parents so very hard to exclusively get whatever it is they want at the time... above all else. These kids are generally quite truthful about their actions when asked.

Having one of the Type 1 kids, I learned a lot about Me, a lot about when I made mistakes raising her, learned a lot about accepting who she was and what she wants in life, and learned to forgive myself for the mistakes we both made.

Awww.. isn't that all warm and fuzzy feeling now ?

You won't get a lot of that from me.

Then an Early Senior-Life Crisis may be the answer!

Kids leaving or left already? Nothing much to do now except wait for the inevitable health-nasties to show up, work the last of your fingers to the bone so you can afford retirement, pay off that second mortgage on the now too big Dream Home and maybe think about a Caravan in another 10 to 15 years?

Say NO to that.

A whole world still lay outside your door. While you breathe you can Live Life as it comes.

Why wait until you are almost too old to do the things you dreamed of doing when you were younger?

Being a single Dad for the past 16 years I tended to make my life one of raising my daughter as best I could. I was already pensioned-off so had plenty of free time to put into it.. and I did. I loved it.

I got to experience what most Dad's miss out on because they go to work every morning until late. That includes 6 years working at the School's Tuckshop with the other Mum's, supervising on bus trips, helping in the classroom and lots of excellent life experiences any male could have.

But.. and there is almost always a "But".. kids grow up and they stop needing you as much as they did before. And one day they move on with their life while you think about what Life without kids at home would be like.

Staying at home, gardening, cooking too much food each day, washing clothes for the hell of routine doesn't interest me one little bit.. nor should it.

While all this thinking was oging on I hit upon a clever interim plan... I decided ot buy a Motorcycle.

Okay, that sure sounds like Mid-Life Crisis doesn't it? But I was too busy raising my girl in my 40's to worry about that stuff.. so now I have the Leisure to go ahead with it now.

The universe or god or someone called Pete or Maria put an older women in my way one day while down town. She showed me her passion toy... a Japa-Harley as I used to call them. It was very nice, and surprisingly cheap. That got me to thinking some more.

The Plan

To take one year and save like crazy to buy one of these big bore Japa-Harleys and hit the road again. I haven't owned and ridden a bike since just before my girly-monster was born, so I think I owe it to myself to do this.

How to put a smile on Oldie's face?

Put him on his bike and say, "Go for a Ride Oldie".

I don't care if anyone thinks I am being a stupid old fart.. in fact all of my buddies and family think it is a great idea. Very supportive they are.

So there ya go folks, you can and should do the things you want to do when you can do them.
